Unlimited and free storage has arrived for some players. There is a catch to the storage, you lose the prestige points/pink flowers associated when the item is stored.
You will get the prestige points/pink flowers back when you place the item back on the island.
For all those folks who whined and complained about not having storage. You now have it but you will have to keep dragging the items in and out of storage to get those prestige points to move forward. If you wanted storage because you didn't have enough space, will you have enough space to place the items from storage to gain the prestige points/pink flowers needed for advancement.
Storage is so poorly designed. I would rather pay for my storage and keep the prestige points/pink flowers just like in Pearl's Peril.
I would like to know from Dave, Wooga June’s Journey designer, why he and his team thought designing storage in this manner was a great idea and it would make game players happy.
The bottom line is to buy high prestige items and limit your usage of the storage option unless you like hauling your items in and out of storage.

UPDATE for June's Journey. Some players have complained that there are no storage for decorations in the game. It doesn't seem like there will be storage in the very near future.

Just a warning to all the players who have been buying low prestige items to beautify their island (I have visited many that are amazing) but they will run out of land really soon.

I just opened a new piece of land with 626 stars and 34 compasses. The next land opens at 672 stars and 34 compasses. The one after that will open at 948 stars and 44 compasses. Yes, 302 stars more from the last expansion of land.

I don't know why it will take that much more stars to open a piece of land. All the other required about 50 more stars from previously open space.

Could the high number of stars needed is because Wooga have only completed 29 chapters and they needed to give themselves some time to complete other chapters?

Just a warning for players that land will become scarce especially after Chapter 27. Consider purchasing high prestige items no matter how beautiful and wonderful those flowers, shrubs, and snow paths are.
