To get the most coins per play, replay Mastered scenes and get "Perfect" scores, meaning no misses, no hints, and no lapses of the bonus bar.

Agree with the previous comments - there is no penalty to use hints and it can increase your score if it saves you time.

There is no point penalty for using hints in comps. As Terry points out, using hints can increase your score if it helps you progress more quickly. The Hint Bonus feature is used in regular game play, but not in comps (it is always 0 in comps). My guess is that because it is embedded in the code for the regular game play, it was more trouble than it's worth for Wooga to remove it in the comp code.Or maybe they just enjoy keeping players guessing...

Angeliki. I am not completely certain, my "Tap to Skip" works fine, so I do not see the "Hint Bonus" score that you are referring to. What I do know is that when playing regular scenes, using a hint lowers the score. As for competitions, I do not think that using "competition hints" lowers the score in the same way as it does for regular scenes. Saving time in the competitions seems to increase scores, so using competition hints to save time seems to increase, not decrease the overall score. I tend to use very few competition hints in Time Rush(TR), but use numerous competition hints in Spot the Difference(STD) and my scores can occasionally exceed 1,000,000 in a 45min STD.

Whether it be TR or STD, using competition hints to save time will increase your score.

An additional thought: (I use gems to mean diamonds) There are "websites" that offer to plus up your JJ gems in exchange for playing certain other games up to a certain level. Not sure how reputable these sites are, and whether Wooga can check for this, but obviously involves "hacking" the virtual storage of the gems in your account. I have not tried this personally, nor do I know of anyone who has. However, when I was in another group, this seemed to happen to us in a reverse sense. We had a new player join. Very intent on accomplishing JJ up to a certain level (~30?). I assisted with hints and tips to help them get there as fast as they could. Quite a student of the game, but when I asked what/why they were doing, they said that if they played up to this certain level of the JJ game, they would "earn ink for Tapas Comics". Had no idea what that meant, but "ink" is the currency for a website selling unique comics. So, ink would be equivalent to JJ gems.

Again, twisting this back around, I have seen websites that offer to plus up JJ gems in exchange for playing other games up to certain levels. And, if these sites know how to "hack" JJ storage, then so do computer savvy players.

Moira, it sounds like you are zoomed in, so only the items present on the screen are lit; items off the screen are dim. Zoom out by pinching in with a finger and thumb on the screen of your mobile device. If you are using a pc with mouse, use the scroll wheel between the buttons on the mouse. You can also just tap the hint button, which will bring the screen back to the original position.
