  If your game is connected to Facebook, it will be backed up in case something happens to your game or your device. Are you able to exchange bushes with other players, which gives you purple diamonds?

  One way is to give plant gifts. Giving plants that cost coins but reward with purple diamonds works! my friends in the game helped me reach 799. Also the more you play you will eventually get 20 diamonds in the green and pink boxes. They also come as rewards when completing a scene, so far I've seen 5 diamonds given as a reward.

  Energy bar began at 110, then as you say, you could raise it permanently to 150 with a one-time purchase with 799 purple diamonds. Not able to raise it any more than that, legitimately.

  When I began playing the game my energy level would only climb to I think it was 120 maybe then I used purple diamonds to purchase two energy bars which raised climbing level to go to 150 each time so then I purchased the three energy bars with diamonds thinking it would raise my ability to store a larger amount of energy but it didn’t work! Is there a way to raise the stored energy level beyond 150?

  Since you mentioned it, I have paid more attention to the suitcases. In my short observation, I've noticed that brown suitcases will often give me lower value items, usually, 1 energy, 10 coins, or common building materials, such as a hammer or bricks. Red suitcases tend to give more valued items, such as 5 energies, 25 coins, wood, or paint Occasionally, the red suitcase will give me same item that I'd find in a brown suitcase. . Purple suitcases are the best, giving purple diamonds, compasses, 2 paint buckets, or 150 coins.

  I suspect some are game testers. But whenever I get one, I send one back (maybe not always the same value). There is a benefit for recipients; they can clear the bush and receive purple diamonds in return. It's helpful to set up regular exchanges with friends to increase your diamonds..
