anyone have any idea how biospheres are measured actually ? I've been building my Pontus planet for a few days now. Have like 20 plus species of organisms already but the game still doesn't declare the planet safe for human population. Im running low on creativity for my organisms. lol

Hi! I finished Mars, my only concern is that after you achive victory and paradise habitability, the opulation overgrows the biomass production and full ecological/societal collaps happens...anyone has any idea how to manage population growth?

My Planet i started with is Ragnarok, arguably the hardest planet with absurd atmosphere and temperature levels.
firstly, convert all the free GP's to money allowing you to research all the Ores to Rhodium. this should leave you with 3 million credits.
Second, build an outpost and freeball a place with a big Rhodium vein. (if you cant just restart) then start placing other less valuable mines.
Since you dont need a colony to work mines, all the profits will be put straight for the account. once you have enough money, build another outpost. no need to restart as you already have a rhodium mine.
Third, build a bank account. Once a mine runs out, destroy it and put a new one in, (make sure you upgrade the mines)
Fourth, Establish a colony. Place your first colony in a good place and research Hab Domes, start researching and building Buildings in reducing atmosphere as this will be your greatest challenge.
Repeat 3 and 4 till Expenses are getting close to profits. Build more outposts, and build a second Colony.
I currently have 3 outposts making 130 grand each because of perfect rhodium and palladium outpost placements.
fifth, build spaceport and build the Acedemy, using the extra 100% buff solves any problem with economies for almost the whole game.
sixth, terraform the planet, build satellites, BUILD POPULATION, without population you will be 150 real life years old by the time your able to leave the Habitats.
ill leave the rest to you but ill give you the money and pop stats by the time i was able to colonize,
the minimum i could wait was with 2 colonies with 500k each, 5 outposts with 2 main rhodium mines.

My first settlement went flat broke in a day by following the tutorial, so I re-started the game and ignored environment and population to research the mining tree instead. Start off be researching up to Palladium, then place an outpost and begin mining; drop 4-5 mines per outpost, making sure to search for the most expensive minerals FIRST and making your way down through the mineral tree to silver (don't bother with carbon or iron until you've stripped everything else out); this should get your cashflow heading upward nicely. Once your finances are back up to decent levels, research Rhodium and establish another two outposts, rinse and repeat; Within a day I was up to 20 million and rising. After three days I'm up to 71 million and ready to start working on terraforming

I'd just like to mention that I was loving this game until I got the Lagrange Academy satellite. You're supposed to be able to achieve independence with it in use, but after building it, I don't get any culture points anymore, thus preventing me from achieving victory. I think that since this is not mentioned in the satellite description, there should be an option to disable satellites.

    Mars:
Focus on economy first. First thing is to research are carbon and iron mining. Make 1-2 outposts. Do not need to rush all the other stuff. Once you get good cash flow, then everything will be easier. For culture, sacrifice population growth for financial growth early as you really need the income. You can just change it later if you want and you don't really need population growth. I stuck with 100 people only for a long time.

Note: Please check all levels (pressure, oxygen, heat, etc.) and make sure that they are not increasing or descreasing and if they are, at least not by a huge amount. Also take note that you shouldn't increase your water level because if water levels increase, the amount of outposts you can place on the map will be limited.

    Next step... Research.
Research silver then a spaceport. This will boost your income by a lot.

    Next is a palladium mine.
If you make a palladium mine, it will be expensive (2m) or more per mine but you can make it cheaper. First, scan for palladium and silver on the outposts you currently own. If there are decent ones then demolish ALL your carbon and iron mines and exchange with palladium. One of my outposts earns 35k. I didn't upgrade any of my mines. You don't need to but you can if you want. I don't like the upgrade because the mine depletes faster and it gets expensive to make a new outpost.

Tip for mining: start scanning with the most expensive first so that you don't make the mistake of putting a carbon mine on a very good silver mine location. This will maximize your earnings and not waste time and money.

Next: Click on the satellite option which would be available once you have a spaceport. 2 sattelite colonies on Phobos and Demios. Just get some people living there (550 population each as my personal recommendation) and somehow they will get random bonuses that make you earn more.

I am still a long way from achieving victory but I am making 300k per minute and the only thing that is stopping me from developing faster is the research and construction times.

Once you unlock the space port, crazy expensive but amazing construction upgrades will be available costing around 25-50m each. You can see them on the satellite options. I am planning to do the one that you can freely adjust your culture points to make me more flexible especially with construction and research times or for when I need money faster.

The game tutorial is enough. It isn't that hard to figure out. It's part of the game to figure things out so the tutorial should not spoon feed you!

When you start out focus on building 2 or 3 outposts with 3 or 4 mines each. You can find the statistics in the upper left hand corner, and swipe all the way to the end to see how you're doing. Then focus on research into pressure, heat, and oxygen, as well as getting to the hab complex, which will also produce oxygen. The more population, the more random benefits will appear. Hope this helps. Also try to use the statistics screen to calculate how fast something is going to develop- accidentally put my pressure up to 4x the goal overnight by not paying attention to this. Took a while to thin it back out.

It's more profitable to space the starting credits by building two cities and letting them to make trade links but watch maintainance cost of buildings

The tutorial was frustratingly sparse leaving me with no real idea how to play. I'm having trouble fingering out cost to benefit ratio. The mines cost 2,000,000 to create and then 15,000 to upgrade the first time, 20,000 the second time and increasing from there. If the mine only lasts about 24-48 hours at about 250c per hour, for a two day mine, after spending upwards of 2,035,000c, it will only make about 12,000. That math doesn't seem like it's possible to make any profit on these mines.

I want to upgrade my mines to deplete them faster, but I'm not sure if this is financially worth it. Does it make you more money in the end or does it end up costing more?

Same here! I actually collapsed my economy immediately and couldn't recover. Second game is going much better!

I don't know what population does though. Is there any reason just the 200 starting people can't mine and terraform the planet?
