New update clay location

How do I get my player to sleep in the bed when I press the hand it opens the 12hr sleep menu but it doesn’t give me an option for sleep

I think the best place to put a house is by where you spawn in at. Where the game starts because then you can respawn from the menu from anywhere in the map and be right at your house. So I walk all the way to the gas station then just respawn a and i am back at my house without having to walk all the way back. It Is very convenient. Our just go wonder around hit 20 on your food level just respawn to your house. Also there are always animals right there to do good hunting spot to.

Where is the best place on the island to build a house/home? I have not explored the whole island, maybe not even a third of it so please give specific directions.
