-In my game, I needed the gold skeleton key way before I needed the drum, but it's totally up to you.
-The powder keg needs black powder, not the steel pan drum.
-No, you can't make black powder in the game. You can however, get it from Dreadbird in trades, buy it from other players in the market, or possibly get it from pets when you feed them. -

They're a rare item. You can't buy them with gold. If you have enough gems you can buy them that way. If you can't/don't want to buy them, you can find them in treasure chests, in treasure dives, or from pets, if you have any. I've even gotten storage expansion items from critters, crabs, clams, jellyfish... good luck!

She comes to your dock in a large bejeweled yacht.

I haven't had that experience. What exactly do do feed it? When I touch mine, it makes noise and moves a bit, then goes back to being a 'live' decoration.

Willow Penn commented on Paradise Bay: Where do you get the barrel to blow up the mine
That's actually a powder keg. You need to have that recipe from the bazaar, black powder from Dreadbird or the market, a barrel & 3 thread. It takes 12 hours to make at the blacksmiths. You can also find powder kegs in the market, but they're kinda rare & expensive.

Willow Penn commented on Paradise Bay: What Re red gems used for
The red gems are rubies. They're used to make Ruby Flowers which you need to buy any pets that aren't given to you by George or Mai. If you aren't interested in pets, you still need them to finish the game, so I suggest finding some that you can live with, at least digitally. ;-)

There are several ways, none really better than the others. 1) From turtles & otters when you collect sea resources from them, 2) From clams when you tap them, 3) From other players via the market (FYI, the most expensive option), 4) In treasure chests (random dailies & relationship level ups), and 5) In treasure dives (this can also be an expensive option). All are sporadic, in my experience. I know it's not easy, but be patient, and stay diligent.
Once you get to the point where you have a little wiggle room in your treehouse storage, and you know you have recipes coming up that you'll need to buy from the bazaar, keep extra in your inventory. I'm at level 35 now, but for the last 10 levels or so I've had no less than 12 pearls in my inventory at any given time, and up to 24 on a couple occasions. That way, when a recipe unlocks, hopefully I've already got on hand what I need to buy it.
Good luck! -

You have to have enough gold coins to buy it, then, like all the other Paradise Bay mills, the Island Outfitter must be purchased and built from the build menu (the little hammer button in the lower left hand corner of the screen).

I learned to be really careful about that, but if you have to dump something, use a coconut milk too make a Vanilla Latte, use sea glass to make a bottle, etc. And if your inventory is full, and you can't pick stuff up, you can still set stuff to work.

If you find something that's easy for you to make, but not a lot of people sell at the market, you can make lots and sell them. It's a great income booster.

They're cute, fun, decorative, and they're something to get with all the platinum and gems you get in dives and trades.

You have to clear the land where the broken map table is, repair the table, and collect the required map pieces.
