The first bunny in the center of the island is not the January bunny. Each "gate" has a corresponding bunny in the wilderness behind it. Open center bunny box, get rooster, open January "gate." Then chop your way straight back to the coastline (if the island were a clock it would be about 2:00 on the coast). There you will find the box with the January bunny that has the rooster to open the February gate. You will not be able to chop down any wilderness around the February gate until you have unlocked it with the rooster from the January bunny. The pattern continues on in this manner going clockwise around the island. Once Feb gate is open, chop back towards the coastline again (about 3:35 on the imaginary clock) to find the Feb bunny. Once you start seeing candles and presents, you know you are close to a bunny box. March bunny is about 5:00, April bunny at 6:00, etc. The gates are also in a circle, sppearing clockwise around the center (first bunny). Some of the gates remain hidden until you've chopped down the right bush, tree, etc around it, so if you can't find a gate, keep clearing in the area you would expect it to be, just clockwise from the previous gate.
