I'm not sure I normally just kill him too. But it does seem like when I don't have a gun he doesn't have a gun when I had my AK-47 he had an AK-47 just kill him and take his resources. Also you wouldn't have to know how to use the generator I built in an elevator and bought a generator but can't get the elevator to work
