Go is an ancient Chinese strategic board game that became popular in ancient Japan. The word "go" Japanese and is short for "igo" meaning "surrounding or encircling game." Each player builds territories and opponents defeat each other by surrounding each other's territories while they are at a technical (by rule) disadvantage. If a samurai was to play a board game it would have been Go.
