Fake Job Offer Turned Crypto Theft
I got a LinkedIn message about a freelance crypto consultant job. It seemed legit. The person even scheduled a Zoom interview. Afterward, they said I needed to demonstrate familiarity with “smart contract staking” by sending USDT into a test environment.

I followed the instructions and deposited $2,000 initially. Everything looked normal. But within days, I was instructed to stake more—and to unlock the funds, I had to pay additional gas fees. The fake platform drained over $198,000 from my wallet before I realized it was all a setup.
