It began with someone posing as a popular investor named “Ryan” on Instagram. His account looked legitimate, He reached out offering what seemed like a private, lucrative crypto investment opportunity. Everything seemed real, so I invested. Over the course of several weeks, I transferred significant amounts of crypto.
Then, without warning, the account was wiped clean. My entire balance gone.
I reported it to the authorities immediately, but despite their efforts, there was little they could do.
