Well, this was about 4 years ago lol, but I do know a way to root and install full Android on a Kindle fire 5th gen. It is tedious, but requires you to put the Kindle into mediatek preloader mode and flash a custom recovery like TWRP. And install a custom rom from the TWRP recovery. Also, this does void any warranty that your device came with, let me know if you need a tutorial link.
