@Jan, enter the club lounge and tap on your club icon to see your list of team members. The number below their picture shows what level they have reached in the game. The number to the right of the blue ribbon is how many league points (ribbons) they have earned this week. You can tell if they are participating by looking at that number. League ribbons can be earned by playing team competitions and/or completing Help Wanted tasks.

My team said the coffee blue ribbons put you in a higher bracket for the comps and weekly. Is that true???

Thank you all for your comments! I believe I noticed it today as I was at zero due to the fact that it was the very start of the league. We’re usually all playing during coffee and haven’t been serving the blue ribbon drinks regularly, so it just escaped my notice.

Is this why sometimes in the weekly competition, as soon as the new comp starts, my team is blown out of the water by teams that supposedly have earned 10 times more points (blue ribbon thingees) than is even possible, even if all 15 members of the opposing teams were playing at once- at furious speeds? For some reason, such faster than possible teams are frequently designated as Russian or Chinese.

No. A player needs to earn a minimum of 10 points (blue ribbons) in order to receive the weekly prize that the team earned.

There is no maximum. It all depends how fast they can play. A fast player using Magic Eye technique may get around 2200 blue ribbons in a 1-hour Spot the Difference.
