Moira, it sounds like you are zoomed in, so only the items present on the screen are lit; items off the screen are dim. Zoom out by pinching in with a finger and thumb on the screen of your mobile device. If you are using a pc with mouse, use the scroll wheel between the buttons on the mouse. You can also just tap the hint button, which will bring the screen back to the original position.

What I'm doing is taking a screenshot of the locked blurred scene. Then I zoom it the screenshot to see if I recognize the scene. If not, I googled June's Journey and the objects that I can see in the screenshot. That will give me the link to the scene here .

I type in zzz to clear all the circles on my iPad. Unfortunately, that also clears the item list. It helps me to get a look at the scene as a whole, though.
Try this: Read the list of items, then type zzz. Zoom in to the left half then right and see which items you find. Now clear the zzz and zoom over the scene again. Do the circles line up with all you found? Click any unexpected ones to find out what is there? Now, do a alphabetical scene hunt down the item list. Hopefully you can find most without needing to click the word. Can repeat process as needed.
I also find it helpful to restudy after I get the second clue, as I usually have forgotten a few items that haven’t shown up yet.

+PrtScn. The file is saved to the Screenshots folder in your Pictures folder. You can also us the Snipping Tool which is available in all versions of Windows Vista, 7, and 8 except the Starter and Basic editions.
