I had the same problem...the builder's mode suggestion worked. For some reason those bushes that I could not chop down in normal mode were able to be chopped down in builder's mode and the February gate appeared in an area I had already cleared. Weird glitch. Thanks for the suggestion.

February Gate:
I could only find it after I hacked all the way back to January Gate to get the box and the presents. I couldn't find the last present hidden in the bottom right of the screen until I went into Builder's MODE (click arrow at bottom right:Square)
I opened the last present (I over did it and hacked around the clock but to save you some $/time once you open that last raggedy blue present hidden in the trees - stay in builders mode
Go back to where January is and you will see that hidden by the trees in normal view are ice bushes - just hack away in that area and then finally you will be able to hack the tree. The February gate will be revealed and opened with the key you just got. Then go straight back as mentioned about. But continue to use Mode as much as you can to see your way thru. Took me forever and I was getting so mad! lol

The first bunny in the center of the island is not the January bunny. Each "gate" has a corresponding bunny in the wilderness behind it. Open center bunny box, get rooster, open January "gate." Then chop your way straight back to the coastline (if the island were a clock it would be about 2:00 on the coast). There you will find the box with the January bunny that has the rooster to open the February gate. You will not be able to chop down any wilderness around the February gate until you have unlocked it with the rooster from the January bunny. The pattern continues on in this manner going clockwise around the island. Once Feb gate is open, chop back towards the coastline again (about 3:35 on the imaginary clock) to find the Feb bunny. Once you start seeing candles and presents, you know you are close to a bunny box. March bunny is about 5:00, April bunny at 6:00, etc. The gates are also in a circle, sppearing clockwise around the center (first bunny). Some of the gates remain hidden until you've chopped down the right bush, tree, etc around it, so if you can't find a gate, keep clearing in the area you would expect it to be, just clockwise from the previous gate. If you are unsure about what needs clearing, read the comment above about how to toggle "Mode" under the Storage menu. Good luck!

The February gate is not showing up for me. I cleared the January area but the February gate is not where is is suppose to be.

I can't remove the tree or ice pack to reveal the February gate. I got the rooster and bunny already clearing everything behind January gate. Why can't I clear the pine tree or ice pack?

The February gate is right there. Remove the pine tree and the ice peak in the middle of your picture
